Subban, Farrese Invited to National Goaltending

CALGARY, AB - Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League announced Thursday evening that 16 goaltenders will attend the seventh-annual Program of Excellence goaltending camp at the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex in Calgary from June 7-10.

Malcolm Subban will join 10 other goaltenders in the under-20 age category (candidates for Canada's National Junior Team) while an additional five in the under-18 category will also be in attendance as they battle for a position on the National Men's Under-18 Team).

As part of the team of evaluators and instructors, Bulls goaltending instructor Sebastien Farrese is back in Calgary for a third consecutive summer. Farrese, along with a team led by Hockey Canada goaltending consultant Ron Tugnutt, will conduct both on-ice and off-ice sessions with the netminders. Other goaltending coaches in attendance include Scott Gouthro (Cape Breton, QMJHL), Mike Lawrence (Oshawa, OHL), Marco Marciano (Blainville-Boisbriand, QMJHL), J.F. Martel (Medicine Hat, WHL), Stan Matwijiw (Plymouth, OHL) and Darcy Wakaluk (Calgary, WHL).
