SUNDAY'S RECAPS

Connecticut 4, Bridgeport 3 OT - The Connecticut Whale defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 4-3, in overtime Sunday night at the XL Center to sweep their first-round playoff series, three games to none. Left wing Marek Hrivik (two), left wing Ryan Bourque and center Casey Wellman lit the lamp for the Whale. The Sound Tigers picked up tallies from left wing Justin DiBenedetto, right wing David Ullstrom and right wing Rhett Rakhshani. Whale netminder Cameron Talbot (3-0) earned his third playoff win with 44 saves on 47 shots. Sound Tigers goaltender Kevin Poulin (0-3) stopped 50-of-54 shots in his third loss of the playoffs. Connecticut went 2-for-6 on the power play. Bridgeport was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

Abbotsford 4, Milwaukee 2 - The Abbotsford Heat are coming back to the Fraser Valley with a two-game lead in their best-of-five Western Conference Quarterfinals with the Milwaukee Admirals after a 4-2 win on Sunday. Left wing Krys Kolanos scored two goals, including the game-winner, and center Ben Walter and right wing Jon Rheault also found the back of the net for the Heat. Left wing Brodie Dupont and center Chris Mueller scored for the Admirals. Heat goaltender Danny Taylor (2-0) earned his second win of the post-season with 28 saves on 30 shots. Admirals netminder Jeremy Smith (0-2) took his second loss stopping 23-of-26 shots. Abbotsford went 1-for-6 on the power play. Milwaukee was 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

Houston 1, Oklahoma City 0 - Left wing Brett Bulmer scored the only goal and goaltender Mike Brodeur made 31 saves as the Houston Aeros edged the Oklahoma City Barons, 1-0, in Game 3 of the AHL's Western Conference Quarterfinals Sunday at Cox Convention Center. Brodeur (1-0) earned his first playoff shutout stopping all 31 shots he faced. Barons netminder Yann Danis (2-1) took his first loss of the post-season stopping 20-of-21 shots. Houston went 0-for-2 on the power play. Oklahoma City was 0-for-7 with the man advantage.
