
Wings Continue Home Struggles, Drop Close One to Swarm

The Philadelphia Wings fell 13-9 to the Minnesota Swarm in a tightly contested game at Wells Fargo Center Friday night. With the loss, the Wings completed their home regular season with a 3-5 record and will look to bounce back on the road Saturday night against the Buffalo Bandits.
Fresh off the bye week, the Wings received a bit of extra motivation prior to the game when Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Famer Bernie Parent addressed the team in the locker room before the game. In then end though it wasn't enough as the Swarm seized control of the game in the fourth quarter and outscored Philadelphia 6-2, after the Wings were tied at 7-7 after three quarters.
Dan Dawson, with seven points (2G, 5A), led the Wings in the back-and-forth contest in which neither team led by more than one goal through three quarters. Despite the loss, Wings goalie Brandon Miller performed well between the pipes with 40 saves, but the Wings were unable to beat Swarm rookie goalie Evan Kirk who matched Miller save for save throughout the game.
The Wings will continue their quest to clinch their first home playoff game in 10 years Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they hit the road against the Buffalo Bandits. The game can be seen live on CBS Sports Network and fans are encouraged to come out to XFinity Live! Philadelphia's Broad Street Bullies for an exclusive viewing party.
The Wings will close out the season with three road games before entering the NLL Playoffs.
