Tucson Padres News Release
TUCSON, AZ - Kino Stadium is the only sports venue in Arizona to feature the new Bottoms Up Beer technology, limiting lines at the beer stand by filling up cups from the bottom. For an amazing video illustrating Bottoms Up Beer, click here - http://www.bottomsupbeer.com/videos.htm . We are also the only venue in southern Arizona to feature the hands free Bottoms Up beer taps! The main advantage of these beer taps is speed and consistency. The Bottoms Up taps can pour fifty (50) 16 ounce beers in one minute.
Bottoms Up beer made its debut at Kino Stadium during the March 16 Mariners vs. Brewers Spring Training game. Fans stood by the beer lines stunned at how the beer emerged from the bottom of their cups.
Fans can see it with their own eyes on Thursday, April 5 for the Padres game vs. Fresno at 7:05 pm. Thursday is Opening Night and is also our first Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, with discount beer priced at only $1.50 per cup. The discount beer starts at 6:00 pm when the gates open and goes until 9:00 pm. This year, the beer at Kino Stadium comes in larger, 16 ounce cups. There are 13 Budweiser Thirsty Thursday home games on the T-Pads schedule.
Mike Feder, Padres VP & General Manager, said "I've never seen anything like this. Once we saw it at the Baseball Winter Meetings in December we knew we had to have them. Our concessionaire, Williams Entertainment, was excited when he saw the literature and immediately ordered five units. This will allow us to serve our customers at a quicker pace thus reducing the lines. I laughed at the Spring Training games when the concession worker was saying 'get your Magic Beer here.' The goal of the Tucson Padres is always to provide great customer service and this fits into that motto."
