Silver Knights Sign Tovar & Reyes to Roster

SYRACUSE, N.Y. --The Syracuse Silver Knights have signed two players, defender Juan Pablo Reyes and midfielder Enrique Tovar. The signings will bolster the Knights roster as they fight the Rochester Lancers for a playoff berth. Syracuse sits just two games behind Rochester for the second Eastern Division playoff berth.
Tovar is also making his second appearance in MISL, previously playing for the California Cougars from 2005 to 2008. He then joined the Rockford Rampage of the National Indoor Soccer League in 2008-09. He was the Rampage's fourth-leading scorer with 10 goals and seven assists during the team's championship run. Tovar returned to the California Cougars in the PASL in 2009. With 22 goals and 26 assists, he was the league's fourth-leading scorer.
Tovar joins the Silver Knights from the Anaheim Bolts, where he had 18 goals and 14 assists in 10 games. He was the fifth-leading scorer in the PASL and was named the Week 6 Player of the Week.
Reyes joins the team after starting the season with thruway rivals the Rochester Lancers. Reyes was a staple of the Lancers defense before signing with the Knights. Reyes developed much of his talent in the USL's Premier Development League where he spent two seasons playing outdoors for the Central Florida Kraze. He played in 10 games this season and helped the Kraze to an 11-3-2 record, which was good for second place in the Southeast Division.
Reyes has also played at the highest level of USL soccer, playing the 2008 outdoor season for the Rochester Rhinos in the USL First Division. Reyes previously played in Major Indoor Soccer League during the 2007-2008 seasons with five appearances for the Orlando Sharks.
Reyes and Tovar's first game with the Syracuse Silver Knights will be next Thursday as the Silver Knights host the Norfolk SharX at 7 p.m. The game features a happy hour "Party on the Pitch" from 5-7 p.m. at the Oncenter War Memorial.
