La Crosse Loggers News Release

LA CROSSE, WI - The La Crosse Loggers Baseball Club bolstered their 2012 roster today with the signings of a pair of players from San Diego State University as team officials announced that sophomore hurler T.J. Kendzora and two-way freshman Stephen Pallares will dawn the Logger green this summer.

Kendzora is no stranger to summer collegiate baseball as he earned All-Star honors in the Prospect League last summer while pitching for the Quincy Gems (Illinois). In 11 starts, the right-hander went 8-0 with a 2.58 ERA and was named the team's pitcher of the year. Kendzora also saw considerable action as a freshman for the Aztecs in the spring of 2011 both as a starter and out of the bullpen, going 3-2 with a 5.60 ERA over 35.1 innings pitched. The Trabuco Canyon, Calif. native is in line to be a part of San Diego State's starting rotation in this upcoming 2012 season which will kick off on Feb. 17 for the Aztecs.

Pallares is one of SDSU's top freshmen recruits who has the ability to play both in the infield and contribute on the mound. The 6-2, 165 pound right-hander hitter and thrower excelled during his prep career at Santiago High School in Corona, Calif. where he earned third-team all-state and second team all-CIF honors as well as first- team all-Riverside County and all-Big Eight League recognition. Pallares was also a member of the Seattle Mariners scout team.

Kendzora, Pallares and the rest of the Loggers open their 2012 campaign on the road on May 30 when they travel to Wisconsin Rapids to take on the Rafters. The Loggers will kick off their 10th season of play at home on Saturday, June 2 when they play host to the Madison Mallards at 6:05 p.m. at The Lumber Yard.
