Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX JAN. 29, 2012 - The Texas Legends went the distance with their in-state rival, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, squeezing out the home victory, 105-101.
Booker Woodfox led the way for Texas pouring in a game high 26 points while connecting on all three of his attempts from long range. Antonio Daniels had his best game of the season for the Legends notching his first double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 assists.
Texas also had a great performance by Matt Rogers who contributed 15 points and two blocks, a much needed stat line with Sean Williams recovering from a sprained ankle.
The Vipers Greg Smith was near unstoppable in the first half resulting in 19 points and 12 rebounds for the game. Kelvin Lewis, the Vipers sharp-shooter, made three out of his first four attempts from beyond the arc, but finished at 40% from deep for 12 points.
The Legends big victory can be attributed to their ability to hit free throws as they made 31 of 37 attempts for an above average 83.8%.
Texas (12-14) is now four and one on their six game home stand and begins preparing for the Reno Bighorns (12-12) who visit Dr Pepper Arena on Wednesday at 7:30PM.
