Sockers sweep season series from Anaheim with 10-5 win

ANAHEIM---Kraig Chiles scored a hat trick and Brian Farber had five points as the San Diego Sockers continued their undefeated ways, rolling past the Anaheim Bolts 10-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center, clinching the PASL Western Division crown. The Sockers outscored Anaheim 7-2 after a 3-3 first quarter, with San Diego (12-0) tallying five straight goals to put the game out of reach. Chiles potted his 38th goal of the year, two shy of the league record for goals in a regular season, and Farber added two goals and three assists. Poway High and USD star Eric Wunderle scored two more goals for the Sockers, who won their 26th consecutive match and 13th straight on the road. Anaheim (3-7) was led by Paul Wright's goal and assist. San Diego caps a perfect 4-0 mark against the Bolts in the opening edition of their rivalry, tabbed the "I-5 Cup".

The Sockers return home to the Del Mar Arena on Saturday night at 7:05pm when they host Revolucion Tijuana (7-4), which defeated Arizona 12-3 on Friday. It's Ball Night at the DMA with the first 250 kids aged 14 and under receiving a new Sockers soccer ball. The game will be carried live on ESPN Radio 1700 and online at 619Sports.Net.
