Peter Sala Added to Syracuse Chiefs Board of Directors

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce the election of Peter E. Sala to the Board of Directors of the Community Baseball Club of Central New York, Inc. Sala, Syracuse University's Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facility Operations and Carrier Dome Managing Director, was elected to the board to replace Thomas Blanchard, who recently resigned.

"Pete Sala's knowledge of facility operations will be extremely beneficial as we look to enhance the fan experience at Alliance Bank Stadium through improvements to the building," said Chiefs President Bill Dutch. "At the same time, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Tom Blanchard for his years of service to the ballclub."

Sala joined the Syracuse University Athletic Department in 1982 and is currently responsible for all athletics department facilities and operations. He is also the construction manager for all athletics facility upgrades and new building projects.

"It is an honor to join an organization that is such an important part of the fabric of our community," said Sala. "I look forward to contributing all that I can to the continued success of the Syracuse Chiefs."

The Chiefs will host their annual Hot Stove Dinner & Silent Auction on Friday, February 3 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Liverpool. Former Major League All-Stars Carlos Delgado and Bob Boone will headline the event along with new Chiefs manager Tony Beasley and fan favorite Seth Bynum. The Hot Stove will raise funds for the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation which implements programs to improve the health and educational opportunities of families and youth in the Central New York community.
