D-Fenders Pull Away Late Behind Polynice Triple-Double

Frisco, TX DEC. 12, 2011 - The Texas Legends again turned a double-digit lead into a double-digit loss, this time at the hands of the Los Angeles Defenders, 104-92.
Brandon Costner led the D-Fenders in scoring with 29 points, while contributing 7 rebounds and 7 assists, but his outstanding play was overshadowed by Eniel Polynice. Polynice registered a triple-double of 23 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds against the Texas Legends, grabbing his final board of the night with 3:35 remaining in the game.
Booker Woodfox continued his strong play for the Legends supplying a pair of season highs with 24 points and five assists. Ramon Dyer managed his second double-double of the season with 10 points and season best 14 rebounds.
Off the bench, Derrick Williams had his best game of the season hitting four from outside in route to a 16 point, five assist night. Despite the quality play of Woodfox, Dyer, and Williams, the Legends made only 39.8% of their shots, while Los Angeles hit 54.9%, the key number as Texas was unable to keep pace in the fourth being outscored 35-15.
Texas (1-6) completes their six game road trip on Thursday when they face the Austin Toros (4-2) in the Cedar Park Center at 7:30PM. Austin won the first of eight match-ups 101-96 on the Legends opening night.
