Crunch Announce Roster Moves

Syracuse, NY (December 11, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have returned left wing J.F. Jacques. Additionally, the Crunch has returned goaltender Timo Pielmeier and loaned forward John Kurtz to the Elmira Jackals (ECHL).

Jacques, 26, has played in three games with Anaheim this season, going scoreless with seven penalty minutes. He has recorded 12 points (6g, 6a) in 16 games with the Crunch this season. Jacques was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round, 68th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the Ducks acquired him via free agency on July 6, 2011.

Pielmeier has played in 10 games with the Jackals this season with a 3.45 goals against average and .896 save percentage. He was assigned to Elmira on October 12, 2011 after attending training camp in Syracuse. Pielmeier was originally drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the third round, 83rdoverall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Anaheim acquired Pielmeier via trade in March of 2009.

Kurtz was signed by the Crunch to an AHL deal on December 6,2011. During the 2010-11 season Kurtz played in 49 games with the Crunch recording six points (4g, 2a). Kurtz played eight games with the Jackals during the 2010-11 season totaling three points (1g,2a).

The Crunch travel to Albany to face the Devils on Wednesday December 14th. They will return to the War Memorial Arena for home games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on December 16th and the Adirondack Phantoms on December 17th.
