Gilbert Assigned Back to Toledo

Rockford, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they have assigned center David Gilbert from the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye.

Chicago's seventh round selection (209th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Gilbert marked an assist in Rockford's 5-3 win at Grand Rapids on Wednesday. In seven career games with the IceHogs, Gilbert has totaled two goals and three assists.

Gilbert has played in seven games with the Walleye in 2011-12 and ranks second on the team in scoring with six points. The center leads the Walleye with five assists.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Nov. 12 vs. Peoria: The IceHogs host Peoria for the second time in 2011-12 for another Illinois Lottery Cup tilt. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. It's also Heritage Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Before the IceHogs take on the Rivermen, there will be an Alumni game featuring former IceHogs skaters against former Blackhawks. The Alumni game will begin at 4 p.m. Special throwback jerseys will be worn by the alumni and current IceHogs and auctioned off after the game.
