
Austin Toros Partner with Teacher Heaven to Honor Outstanding Teachers in Central Texas

Austin, TX October 21, 2011- The Austin Toros are partnering with Teacher Heaven to present "Hometown Teacher of the Game" during the Toros' 2011-12 season. The program will honor Central Texas teachers nominated by their communities for outstanding work in the field of education.
"Teacher Heaven recognizes the importance of showing appreciation for our local teachers," said Susan Savoie, owner of Teacher Heaven, Inc. "As a company we strive to do that every day in our stores as well through outreach efforts in the communities and school districts. We are so excited to partner with the Toros this season and sponsor a program that honors amazing teachers."
All teachers from school districts in Central Texas are eligible to be nominated. Teachers can be nominated by sending a letter, video, fax or email to the Toros office with information about the teacher and what makes their efforts noteworthy. Teacher nominations can be faxed to 512-236-8444, mailed to 12885 N. Hwy 183 Suite 207 Austin, Texas 78750 or emailed to Perri Travillion, Toros Media and Community Relations Manager at ptravillion@austintoros.com.
Selected teachers will receive a visit to their school from Toros mascot, Da Bull, a gift card from Teacher Heaven, t-shirt and a commemorative plaque. Honored teachers will also receive two tickets to an Austin Toros weekend home game at which they will be recognized for their achievements at center court.
"We are very excited to start Hometown Teacher of the Game with Teacher Heaven," said Peter Lubell, Chief Operating Officer for the Austin Toros. "This will be a great opportunity to spotlight the amazing, hard-working educators in the local area."
