Coyotes Recall Chris Summers from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 209 pound Summers appeared in two games with the Coyotes last season, collecting four penalty minutes (PIM). In 2010-11, the 23-year-old native of Ann Arbor, Michigan recorded 1-7-8 and 52 PIM in 58 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Summers was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.

The Coyotes also announced that defenseman Michal Rozsival has been place on Injured Reserve (IR) with an upper-body injury.
