Austin Toros to Hold Local Player Tryouts

AUSTIN, TX August 22, 2011 - The Austin Toros today announced they will hold their annual local player tryouts in Austin on October 8th for the 2011-12 NBA Development League season.
The Austin tryouts will take place at Concordia University, 11400 Concordia University Drive. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and tryouts are expected to last until 3 p.m.
During tryouts, players will take part in individual drills and scrimmages. Prospects will be observed by Austin Toros basketball operations staff.
"Local player tryouts provide an opportunity for individuals to have a chance at living their dream," said Toros Head Coach Brad Jones.
Selected players participating in the workouts may be invited to the Toros training camp this fall and compete for an opening night roster spot.
Jones added, "During my time in the D-League I have had several players come through the local tryout, make the team and get a chance to live out a dream of playing professional basketball. I look forward to seeing this year's group work out."
Interested players should submit completed registration, disclosure, and release forms along with a $150 non-refundable participation fee to the Toros office. Late registration is $175 for all forms received after Saturday, October 1st. Tryouts are limited to the first 100 applicants who submit completed registration forms and payment.
