The Sioux Falls Storm (15-1) will host the United Bowl III this Saturday at the Storm Shelter and looks to claim its 5th title in 7 years. The Storm takes on the Tri-City Fever (13-4). Waterbury Coleman is the proud sponsor of the game. Kick-off is set for 7:05 PM CT.
Play N Trade is proud to present Show Baby as the night's halftime show. Storm fans can expect the most ambitious and spectacular show the IFL has seen.
The Storm defeated the Green Bay Blizzard last week, 52-12 in an impressive showing on both sides of the ball for the United Conference Championship. The Indoor Football League's Most Valuable Player, quarterback Chris Dixon, led the team with 193 yards on a 14 for 22 showing in which he threw two touchdowns. Dixon also added two touchdowns on the ground. Also leading the rushing attack was James Jones, who helped the team with 52 yards and three touchdowns on 14 touches. For the receivers, James Terry led the team with nine receptions, 131 yards and two scores. On defense, Stewart Franks and Brian McIntire each recovered fumbles, while McIntire also added on interception, and both had a team-leading five tackles. Also adding an interception was Donta Moore. Michael Landry and Rachman Crable each added a sack, while Crable also had a blocked kick in the first half.
The Fever rolls in to town looking for its first franchise championship. Quarterback Houston Lillard led the team to a 67-46 victory over the Allen Wranglers to win the Intense Conference Championship. Lillard threw for 214 yards and seven touchdowns, two each to Jackie Chambers, Steven Whitehead and Oliver Young. Young led the team with 103 receiving yards. For the defense, Freddie Harris and Jake Kileen each recovered fumbles, while Joseph Thornton and Malcolm Bennett added one sack individually. Thorton led the team with nine tackles.
"We've prepared for twelve months for Saturday night," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "Two great franchises will stand toe-to-toe as winner takes all. United Bowl III will be one to remember."
