JUPITER, Fla. -- The Charlotte Stone Crabs could not avoid a sweep at the hands of the Jupiter Hammerheads on Thursday, dropping a 2-0 decision at Roger Dean Stadium.

It was a series that matched up two teams heading in opposite directions. Jupiter completed the sweep of the three-game series and ran their current winning streak to six-games in the process. After losing six consecutive games to open the season, the Hammerheads have now won 15 times in their last 21 games.

Meanwhile, the loss for Charlotte is the team's fifth in a row, the longest losing streak of the season. The Stone Crabs stranded six men on the day, five of which were left in scoring position.

With Chris Andujar unable to go, Charlotte turned to reliever Drew Leary for a spot start. Leary (0-1) allowed a pair of first inning runs over three innings of work in taking the loss.

Danny Pertusati was hit by a Leary pitch in the bottom of the first and promptly stole second base. That was followed by a run-scoring double from Dallas Poulk that gave Jupiter a 1-0 lead. Kyle Jensen drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly. That gave Jensen his Florida State League leading 30th RBI of the year.

Quality relief was supplied by Adam Liberatore, who worked four scoreless innings and held Jupiter in check as the Charlotte offense searched for the necessary runs to get back in the game.

Jupiter left-hander Jose Alvarez (3-1) did not make it easy. He worked six innings of shut-out ball, allowed four hits, walked two and struck out six to earn the victory.

A.J. Ramos worked a perfect ninth inning to convert his seventh save of the season. Jupiter has now won five of the first six games against Charlotte this season.

Matt Hall's seven-game hitting streak was snapped as the third baseman took and 0-for-3 at the plate.

The Stone Crabs travel home to open a three-game series against the Bradenton Marauders on Friday. Alex Koronis (1-00 will make the start for Charlotte against Quinton Miller (1-2) of Bradenton. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
