Tulsa Concludes Season With 107-94 Defeat At Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa, April 18, 2011-Robert Vaden tallied a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds and Elijah Millsap posted 18 points and a team-high nine boards but the Tulsa 66ers fell short 107-94 in Game Two of the NBA D-League Semifinals against the top-seeded Iowa Energy inside the Wells Fargo Arena Monday night.

Also topping Tulsa in Game One last Friday, the victory gave the Energy the best-of-three series win and a trip to the D-League Finals. Tulsa, who recorded its most regular season victories in team history (33-17) in 2010-11, concluded its season with the defeat.

Also scoring in double figures for Tulsa Monday night was Jerome Dyson with 17, Brandon Brooks with 11 and Marcus Lewis with 10.

Fourth-seeded Tulsa tallied 20 assists on the evening, led by Brooks with a team-high seven dishes.

Defensively, the 66ers forced 18 Energy turnovers, including 10 steals. Guard Matt Bouldin led the team with five thefts on the night.

Leading Iowa on the evening was Scott VanderMeer with 19 points and a game-high 18 rebounds. Guard Curtis Stinson led the team with 19 points and a game-high 13 assists.

The 66ers were again without forward Latavious Williams due to injury on Monday. Williams is currently the all-time leading rebounder in Tulsa history with 712 career boards and third all-time with 80 blocked shots.

The 2011 NBA D-League Playoff berth was the second consecutive trip to the postseason for Tulsa under second-year head coach Nate Tibbetts.
