Salem RidgeYaks News Release
Salem, VA - For the second straight night, Opening Day excitement was hampered by consistent rains that washed away baseball at LewisGale Field. With the postponement of Saturday's twin-bill, the Salem Red Sox now aim to begin their season on Sunday at 3 PM with another doubleheader against Frederick. Gates will open at 2:30 PM.
Sunday is Peter Hissey Poster Giveaway Day at the ballpark, with the first 1,000 fans set to receive collectible posters of Salem's center fielder. Hissey is scheduled to sign autographs for fans after the game.
Fans with tickets from either Friday or Saturday's rain-outs can redeem them for any other game in the 2011 season by contacting the Salem Red Sox office at 540-389-3333.
