San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---It is high times at Foster Field with the San Angelo baseball season in full swing earlier than usual. So far this year the Colts home has seen a big high school tournament with the Lake View Invitational being a big success, Angelo State Baseball has been playing for months and the San Angelo Colts season is right around the corner. With Major League Baseball now under way the baseball season is officially here and San Angeloans can catch the first ever Division I baseball game at Foster Field tomorrow, as Texas Tech Raids San Angelo on Tuesday April 5. Hard to believe the big game that has been anticipated in town for months is less than 24 hours away. The Red Raiders will take on the University of Texas San Antonio Roadrunners. The game starts at 3PM as part of a double-header, which will feature a pair of nine inning contests. Game two of the double dip will start approximately a half hour after game one ends.
The game will also help raise money for local baseball as Angelo State, which is a member of the Texas Tech system and play their entire regular season home schedule at Foster Field, will receive all of the proceeds from the Red Raiders contest for their baseball program. The game is also sponsored locally by the Tech Club of the Concho Valley. A special appearance will also be made by Texas Tech's famed Masked Rider, who will be in attendance to help Red Raiders fans root on their team.
Some good seats are still available and tickets can be purchased through the Colts website, at the Foster Field front office or by phone at (325) 94-COLTS. Box seats are $8 and general admission is $5. The Colts have also made available special $2 general admission tickets for children 12 and under and Angelo State students with a student ID, however, those tickets will only be available at the Colts front office on the day of the game.
