
Legends Head into All-Star Break with Final Playoff Spot Despite Loss

Bakersfield, CA (February 14, 2011) - The Texas Legends dropped their fourth straight game and were swept in a three game series at the hands of the Bakersfield Jam on Monday night, after falling 107-100 at the Jam Events Center.
With the Jam on top 32-27 less than two minutes into the second quarter, the Legends went on a 13-0 run to take an eight-point lead of their own. Texas scored the final five points of the half and took a 54-45 lead into the break.
Dominique Johnson and Justin Dentmon dropped in13 points apiece in the opening half, while all ten Bakersfield players got in the action and scored in the first half.
The Legends would maintain their lead through the third and went into the final quarter on top by eight. However, everything went south for Texas in the fourth.
After the Legends scored the first five points of the quarter and went up by 13 points, the Jam outscored Texas 32-12 over the final nine minutes of the game to complete the sweep.
Dentmon led five double-digit scorers for Texas with a game-high 21 points, while Joe Alexander (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Sean Williams (15 points, 15 rebounds) both picked up double-doubles.
Jeremy Wise led the offensive attack for Bakersfield with a team-high 20 points.
Texas fell to 16-18 following the defeat, as the Jam improved to 21-12.
Although the Legends have fallen in four straight games, they remain in eighth place in the league standings and hold the final playoff spot with 16 games left in the season.
The Legends have a week off to regroup as they head into the All-Star break. Alexander and Williams will represent the Legends in the fifth-annual NBA D-League All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.
Texas will be back in action next Monday night as they host the Austin Toros in a game that will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest beginning at 7:00 PM.
