Sea Dogs acquire all-star defenseman; Garrett Clarke traded to Titan

BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 - A few teams made moves today with less than twenty-four hours remaining before the QMJHL trade window closes. The biggest move of the day belonged to the Saint John Sea Dogs. They acquired defenseman �ric Gélinas (91-05-08) from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for defenseman Guillaume Cloutier (93-02-18). Gélinas has collected 9 goals and 15 helpers in 35 games so far this season while Cloutier, a 17-year-old blue-liner, has 7 points in 36 games.
In another trade, the Titan acquired defenseman Garrett Clarke (92-11-03) from the Cataractes for a first round pick in 2013. Clarke registered 2 goals and 11 assists in 29 games with the Halifax Mooseheads and the Shawinigan Cataractes this season. He also posted a -13 rating.
Of note, the trade period ends tomorrow at noon.
