Former Storm Linebacker Continues to Excel

The Sioux Falls Storm is proud to announce that former Storm standout, Donnie Hilsenroth, placed in the top 25 in the world and top 15 in the USA at the 2010 Scotts Firefighter Combat Challenge-Worlds.

Hilsenroth competed in the 2010 Combat Challenge in November in Myrtle Beach. He finished the finals with an all-time best time of 1:31.88. A time that made him the record holder in South Dakota and placed him in the top 25.

"Donnie continues to show why he was such a dominant force on the football field. As a good friend, I'm happy to see Donnie find something that continues to feed his competitive desires," stated Todd Tryon, Storm Owner. "On behalf of all of Storm Nation, we are proud of Donnie's incredible accomplishment and look forward to watching him climb to the top of those rankings."

Hilsenroth is the Storm's second-leading tackler of all-time and had is his jersey (#46) retired during the 2005 season. Donnie retired from the Storm after playing from 2000-2003 to become a Sioux Falls firefighter. Hilsenroth returned to the Storm family as a coach for the 2005 through 2009 seasons and now currently serves as Head of Player Control.
