Portland Trail Blazers forward Luke Babbitt was assigned to the Idaho Stampede, Portland's NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced Wednesday. The assignment marks the 15th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Babbitt, a rookie out of Nevada-Reno. Babbitt (6-9, 225) has appeared in eight regular season games for the Trail Blazers, who acquired him on a draft-night deal with Minnesota. Selected by the Timberwolves in the first round (16th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft, Babbitt averaged 14.2 points and 3.8 rebounds with Portland in five NBA Summer League games.
MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES REASSIGN JONNY FLYNN TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE SIOUX FALLS SKYFORCE
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jonny Flynn was reassigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Minnesota's NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced yesterday. The assignment marks the 16th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the second assignment for Flynn, a second-year pro out of Syracuse. Flynn (6-0, 195) was first assigned to Sioux Falls on Dec. 1. He appeared in one game, a 113-103 loss to Iowa on Dec. 3, recording eight points with nine assists in 25 minutes. It was his first game action following offseason hip surgery. Last season, Flynn averaged 13.5 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 81 games (all starts) with Minnesota, and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Houston Rocket assignee, Patrick Patterson led the way for Rio Grande Valley as his 24 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks helped the Vipers knock off New Mexico. Shane Edwards led the Thunderbirds with 33 points on 8-for-16 shooting.
Portland Trail Blazers assignee Luke Babbit scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds for Idaho in its win over Dakota. Antoine Walker scored 13 points in his debut and helped the Stampede to its first victory of the season.
