Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The dawn of the Texas Legends era is near, as the HP Court the team will use at Dr Pepper Arena is nearly ready for the Legends to tip-off.
HP Court, complete with an HP logo covering the tip-off circle, will be installed at Dr Pepper Arena shortly before the Legends' first home game on Nov. 30.
InTouch Credit Union recently agreed to fill the fourth and final quadrant on the court, joining Baylor Medical Center at Frisco, the UT Dallas Executive MBA Program and MetroPCS as founding partners of HP Court.
"InTouch Credit Union is proud to become the fifth and final court sponsor for the Texas Legends," InTouch CEO Kent Lugrand commented. "We have great confidence in the values the Legends and their affiliates represent, and hope our joint commitment to families and entrepreneurship leads to continued success."
The court, being constructed by Tarkett Sports, will give the Legends every advantage possible, as it will provide the players with maximum stability thanks to the Sportable system's Dual Locking support. Each panel is locked in place, securing the entire court for ideal play.
"In over 20 years in this business I have never seen so much excitement generated by the court itself and we at Tarkett Sports could not be happier to provide it," said Stephane Leudet, Vice President of Tarkett Sports' Indoor Flooring Division. "It's not every day that a basketball court can be called a game-changer, but what we have achieved here with the Texas Legends and their court marks a special moment in history."
The Dual Locking design also minimizes, if not eliminates, dead-spots on the floor, thus creating natural and consistent bounce levels throughout the court. Sportable's Quick-T Joins make the installation of the court quick, and it is even easier to remove, thus preserving the Legends' home court advantage.
"We are proud to add the InTouch Credit Union logo to HP Court," Legends Co-Owner Donnie Nelson commented. "InTouch Credit Union is a staple of our North Texas community and their personnel have been a joy to work with. Tarkett Sports is the industry leader in sports flooring and have provided us with a beautiful court that will serve as a tremendous playing surface."
The Legends open their season on Nov. 18 at Rio Grande Valley, and their first home game, of a three-game homestand, is Nov. 30 against Austin, followed by a Dec. 3 match-up with Rio Grande Valley again, and then on Dec. 4 the Legends host Tulsa.
