LAS VEGAS, NV - Sunday, October 17, 2010 - The Las Vegas Locomotives will place quarterback TIM RATTAY on the injured reserve list after rupturing his right Achilles tendon. Rattay lead the Locos to a 26-3 win over the Sacramento Mountain Lions on Friday.

Rattay was hurt late in the fourth quarter after he had bad footing on the field of play. Rattay was taken out of the game and would not return.

"I really feel bad for Tim, it's very unfortunate to rupture your Achilles tendon," head coach JIM FASSEL said. "Tim has done an outstanding job for us. Obviously any time you lose a player of his caliber, especially your quarterback, it can affect the team."

Rattay went 18 for 27 for 158 yards against the Mountain Lions on Friday before being injured. He had no interceptions and was not sacked during the game.

"I am very confident in DREW WILLY and CHASE CLEMENT and their ability to come in and provide us with quality quarterback play," Fassel added. "I have a lot of confidence in these young men, they know our system and have been very productive. We will be able to adapt and move on."

Willy was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009 and spent time on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad later that season, suiting up as the inactive third quarterback on December 27. He was the most prolific passers in Buffalo football history and as a four-year starter, set school records for completions (849), attempts (1,322), passing yards (8,748), touchdowns (52), total offense (8,639) and completion percentage (64.2). In the final 20 games of his college career, Willy threw 36 touchdown passes to just six interceptions.

Clement was a hugely successful quarterback during his college career at Rice from 2005-2008 as he and wide receiver Jarrett Dillard set the NCAA Division I-A record for career touchdowns between a quarterback and receiver with 51. He was named Conference USA Most Valuable Player as a senior in 2008 as he threw for 4,119 yards, 44 touchdowns and 7 interceptions and led Rice to victory in the 2008 Texas Bowl, being named MVP in the process. Clement set a total of 18 school records and four conference marks.

This season Rattay completed 83 of 126 attempts for 791 yards and 3 touchdowns with 4 interceptions and was sacked 6 times through four games.

The Locos plan to bring back RUSS MICHNA to the active roster. Michna started the 2010 season in the Locos camp but was cut back in mid August.

Fassel said: "He is a young man that has been with us all last year and in training camp this year. I look forward to having him back."

Michna was originally signed by the Locos on August 31, 2009 before joining the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League in January 2010. Michna played college football for Western Illinois University and was signed by the St. Louis Rams in 2004.

The league-leading 3-1 Las Vegas Locos' next home game is Saturday October 23 at 12.30pm at Sam Boyd Stadium against the 1-3 Hartford Colonials. Tickets start at $15 and are still available by calling 702-739-fans or online at unlvtickets.com.

Locos celebrate Kids Day on Saturday by having Kids 12 and Under Free with an adult paid admission. Fan fest starts at 10am and will include a BMX and Skateboard Stunt Show, Frisbee Dogs, Balloon Artists, Inflatable's and Interactive Games.
