TULSA, Okla.- Twenty-four participants received invitations to return to day two of Tulsa 66ers open tryouts on Sunday, cut down from an opening-day total of 44.

Competing for invitations to the team's training camp in November, the participants went through a two-hour workout inside Tulsa's downtown Convention Center.

"I was very pleased with the effort the guys came out with today," Tulsa 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. "We had a physical day yesterday, so it was great to see them come out and display such a high-level of energy."

Last year's open tryouts produced Oral Roberts' Marcus Lewis, who helped guide the Tulsa 66ers to the 2010 D-League finals. The 6-8 forward started four games in the postseason, averaging 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

"We take great pride in our open tryouts and take it very seriously," Tibbetts said. "I think we do a good job of evaluating talent and allowing these guys an opportunity to display their skills. We will sit down as a staff, evaluate the guys and inform the league office who we are interested in."

Tulsa opens its season on Friday, Nov. 19 at Bakersfield. The 66ers' home-opener is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 26 against Iowa. For ticket information and purchases call (918) 585-8444.

"This was not only a great opportunity for the guys, but for our staff as well," Tibbetts said. "We have added three new staff members here in Tulsa and it was a great opportunity to work as a unit for the first time this season."
