66ers Conclude Day One of Open Tryouts

TULSA, Okla - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, completed their first day of open tryouts on Saturday inside Tulsa's downtown Convention Center. The tryouts attracted 44 men from across the country, including 17 from the state of Oklahoma, all competing for invitations to training camp in November.

"I was very pleased with the effort and energy the guys showed today," Tibbetts said. "I was particularly proud of the guys' focus on the defensive end."

Opening day consisted of two sessions at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Each session lasted approximately two hours.

"Not only are we looking for great players, but great teammates," Tibbetts said. "This weekend is a great opportunity for these players to showcase their talents. We look forward to seeing how these guys respond tomorrow."

Tryouts conclude on Sunday with an invitation-only morning session beginning at 10 a.m. inside the Convention Center.

Tulsa opens its season on Friday, Nov. 19 at Bakersfield. The 66ers' home-opener is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 26 against Iowa. For ticket information and purchases call (918) 585-8444.
