Real Salt Lake News Release

SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, September 8, 2010) - Real Salt Lake (12-4-7, 43 pts.) will make its first visit back to Seattle since last November's MLS Cup 2009 triumph tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 9, for a Western Conference showdown with Seattle Sounders FC (9-9-5, 32 pts.). Claret-and-Cobalt fans from across the country will be able to tune into the 9:00 p.m. MT contest at Qwest Field, as the pivotal match-up for postseason and MLS Supporters Shield positioning will be featured as the ESPN2 / ESPN Deportes "MLS Game of the Week" broadcast.

Real Salt Lake and Seattle are tied at 1-1-1 in their brief regular season series, the draw coming in 2-2 fashion in this season's Rio Tinto Stadium opener, with FW Álvaro Saborío's stoppage time header evening the proceedings and opening his MLS scoring account, which now stands at a team-high eight. RSL's lone visit to Seattle in League play marked a rough opening to the 2009 campaign, as goals on either side of the half downed RSL to a 0-2 defeat at Qwest Field last March 28. The two squads would also meet in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying play just a month after that contest, with Real Salt Lake serving as the first victim on Seattle's march to the tournament title via a 1-4 defeat at the Starfire Sports Complex in suburban Tukwila.

"RSL on the Air": September 9 at Seattle Sounders FC - 9:00 p.m. MT

TV: ESPN2 / ESPN Deportes

Radio: ESPN 700 (English) - Coverage begins with America First Credit Union Pre-match Report at 8:00 p.m.
