Vipers to Hold Open Tryouts During RGV Rocket Launch 2010

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today they are holding open tryouts to make the team at their practice facility, the Summit Sports Club in Pharr, on October 2 and 3 as part of RGV Rocket Launch 2010.
RGV Rocket Launch 2010 is a series of events, including Houston Rockets training camp on the Vipers' court at State Farm Arena, leading up to the NBA pre-season game between the Rockets and Orlando Magic on October 5 at State Farm Arena.
At least one player from this tryout camp is expected to earn one of the 17 spots on the Vipers' training camp roster.
Prospective players can download the registration forms at rgvipers.com and return them in advance or at the door. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on October 2. The cost is $150 in advance and $175 at the door. All fees must be paid by a money order or cashier's check made out to RGV Basketball LLC. Cash is also accepted.

This is the second of two open tryouts being hosted by the Vipers and their parent club, the Rockets. The first was held on the Rockets' practice court at Toyota Center in Houston on August 27.
