Texas Legends News Release
ESPN and the Texas Legends have indeed announced ESPN will cover the team's games throughout the 2010-2011 season. The partnership makes the Legends the first NBA D-League team to partner with ESPN for all of its games for the 2010-11 season - continuing the Legends impressive list of "firsts" within the NBA D-League that includes first female head coach (Nancy Lieberman). Legends games will appear on either ESPN 103.3 KESN-FM or on ESPN HDRadio.
"The Texas Legends couldn't be prouder and more excited to partner with ESPN," Legends Co-Owner Donnie Nelson commented. "Pete Dits and his incredible team have provided the Metroplex with unprecedented basketball coverage and sports theatre. Maverick young guns as well as our fans will experience the very best as only the worldwide sports leader can provide. Ben and Skin especially have been involved with this project from it's inception. Their creative fingerprints have been all over the Legends since day one and we are grateful."
The Legends' season will tip-off in November, and fans who can't make it to the game can listen on ESPN 103.3 KESN-FM in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The partnership tips-off immediately as the Legends are offering a limited time, limited availability season ticket offer to ESPN Radio listeners for the exclusive price of $103.30. This season ticket gets fans access to all 24 Legends home games, including the historic home opener on November 30.
"The partnership with the Texas Legends is a natural extension of our long standing relationship with the Dallas Mavericks." Said ESPN Dallas VP and general Manager Pete Dits. " The Legends have a great game plan for success, and with Donnie Nelson in charge we know they will provide a fun and exciting product for basketball fans. Nancy Lieberman is a friend of ESPN 103.3FM, and will do a great job in her role as head coach. Top to bottom the Legends are an organization with smart and creative people, and will be excellent partners for ESPN. We can't wait to tip off the first season!"
The Texas Legends have sold more than 20,000 tickets for their historic inaugural season. To reserve your tickets today, call 1-214-469-0822 or email info@TexLegends.com .
