Laredo Bucks News Release

The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have re-signed All-Star defenseman Jarred Mohr for the 2010-11 season. Mohr is entering his fifth professional season and his second with the Bucks.

Last season in Laredo the 25-year-old Mohr (pronounced MOORE) set career highs in goals (10), assists (22), points (32) and PIM's (66) in 59 games as he was named to his first-career all star game. Seven of Mohr's 10 goals and 12 of his 22 assists came on the power-play last season. Mohr picked up two assists and six PIM's in the 2010 playoffs.

"Jarred was one of our key players last season and he was one of our priorities to bring back for this season," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He's so effective on the power-play and he's grown into a leader on and off of the ice."

The Regina, Saskachewon native had seven multi-point games last season and had a five-game point streak from December 29th to January 8th.

In his first four professional seasons Mohr has played in a total of 239 games, picking up a combined 75 points (16-59=75) and totaling 202 PIM's.

"In the last two seasons Jarred's offensive numbers have improved and that's a plus for our team," Ruskowski said. "He's improved in every aspect of his game and is a great addition to our defensive unit."

The 5'11'', 190 pound Mohr, spent the 2008-09 season in Rocky Mountain where he put up 21 points (3-18=21) and 52 PIM's.

In 2007-08 with Kalamazoo Mohr had 12 points (1-11=12) with 32 PIM's in 41 games, while he split the 2006-07 campaign with Cincinnati and Pensecola putting up 10 points (2-8=10) and 52 PIM's in 68 games.

Prior to turning pro Mohr played four years of junior hockey in the SJHL with the Estevan Bruins (2002-2004), and the Battlefords North Stars (2004-2006). In his junior career Mohr had 99 points (23-76=99), with 357 PIM's.

Mohr is the 11th Buck signed for the 2010-11 season, including the fifth returnee (Pier Pelletier, Ryan Lehr, Serge Dube, Neil Trimm, Jarred Mohr).

The Bucks will start their ninth CHL season on October 15th with their home opener October 23rd against Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. Season tickets are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to place our order now.
