Blades Add D-Man McColm to '10-'11 Roster

ESTERO, FL- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that defenseman Mitch McColm has signed a contract for the 2010-11 season, making him the third player signed by the Everblades for the upcoming season.

McColm returns to the Everblades where he made his professional debut in 2009-10. The 21-year-old signed a contract and made his pro debut on March 19 of last season against South Carolina. He finished off the regular season by skating in five games before contributing one assist in nine Kelly Cup Playoff Games.

The Calgary, Alberta native began the 2009-10 campaign by combining to score 14 points (3g, 11a) and amass 136 penalty minutes with the Chilliwack Bruins and Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. His final season of junior hockey saw him post 10 points and 76 penalty minutes in 45 games with Chilliwack before being traded to Regina in January. The 6-foot-4, 212 pound blue-liner finished out the regular season with four points and 67 PIM in 27 games with the Pats before signing with the Everblades.

In five seasons of junior hockey in the WHL, McColm tallied 36 points (6g, 30a) and 395 PIM in 211 games with Lethbridge, Tri-City, Chilliwack and Regina.
