
Canadiens Sign Benoit Pouliot to Contract for the 2010-2011 Season

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of forward Benoit Pouliot to a one-year contract (2010-2011). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Pouliot, 23, competed in 39 regular season games with the Canadiens last year recording 24 points (15 goals, nine assists). In 53 total regular season games with Montreal and the Minnesota Wild in 2009-2010, the native of Alfred, Ontario combined for 28 points (17 goals, 11 assists). The 6-foot-3, 199-pound forward played in 18 post-season games with the Canadiens recording two assists. Pouliot also played in three games with the Bulldogs this past season recording a goal and two assists. Pouliot was selected in the 1st round, 4th overall by the Minnesota Wild at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canadiens in a trade for Guillaume Latendresse on November 23rd, 2009.
