June 16, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

The Cincinnati Cyclones, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League, announced this morning that Vice President and General Manager Kristin Ropp has been named the league's ‘Executive of the Year'.

Ropp becomes the first executive from Cincinnati, and the first female in ECHL history, to win the award. The ECHL's ‘Executive of the Year' honor has been presented annually since 1993. The award is determined by a vote of ECHL Governors. Kristin received the award at the annual league meetings in Las Vegas.

For the third straight season, the Cyclones led the ECHL in percentage of attendance increased at 25.2 percent. Cincinnati also established a Kelly Cup Finals record for single game attendance at 13,438 for the title clinching game at U.S. Bank Arena over Idaho on May 21. In each of the past three seasons, the Cyclones have ranked first or second in minor pro hockey in North America for percentage of attendance increased.

Cincinnati is also the only team in minor pro hockey to have an increase in playoff attendance versus the regular season in each of the previous three campaigns. Twice during the 2009-10 regular season (and a third time in the postseason), Cincinnati surpassed 10,000 fans for a single hockey game. Four of the team's ten largest regular season gates came during this season, including the biggest weekday regular season draw in team history (8944 on November 17).

Ropp, who also serves as Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Bank Arena, is a native of Pittsburgh and a 1996 graduate of Ohio University. She has been with U.S. Bank Arena since 2002.

The Cincinnati Cyclones will open training camp in early October. Season tickets for the Cyclones are currently on sale and can be obtained by contacting the team's sales department at 513-421-PUCK (7825).
