Cleanup Moved Again, Now May 22nd

May 4, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL) Mississippi RiverKings

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings have announced that due an unforseen conflict developing, the rescheduled date of May 15th for the U.S. Highway 51 Litter Cleanup will have to be moved again. The new date is now set for May 22nd.

The RiverKings have "adopted" the one-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 51 between Church Road and Starlanding Road in Southaven to keep clear of litter on an on-going basis.

The team at least twice a year walks that stretch of highway as part of its commitment through the Mississippi Department of Transportation "Adopt A Highway" program.

Volunteers are still needed to help out in the effort. Staff members and volunteers will meet at 8 AM that morning for coffee and doughnuts, then start out to clean up the highway until completed.

Participants are welcome to take part in a grill out lunch after the clean up is done.

For more information and to express your willingness to help in the team's clean up activity, please call Community Development Coordinator Whitley Rives at 662-342-1755 or by email at whitley@riverkings.com before 5:00 PM Thursday, May 20th.

Your Mississippi RiverKings are getting ready for another season of action packed, professional hockey in the Mid-South. 2010-2011 season tickets are now on sale by calling the RiverKings at 662-342-1755, or go online at www.riverkings.com for more information today!
