Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Jeremy Morin of the Kitchener Rangers is the CHL Player of the Week for the fifth week of the 2010 Playoffs ending April 18. Morin scored six goals with one assist for seven points in four games with a plus-minus rating of plus-3.

Morin's week was highlighted by two hat-trick performances including a first star effort with three goals in Game 3 of the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series on Sunday in a 5-3 win over the Windsor Spitfires. The Rangers currently lead the series 3-0. Morin also added an assist in Game 1 of the series last Thursday night in a 7-6 overtime win. Before facing the defending MasterCard Memorial Cup Champions, Morin netted three goals as first star of the decisive Game 7 win over the London Knights 8-3 in the OHL's Western Conference Semi-Finals last Monday night.

Morin, a 19-year-old from Auburn, NY, is playing in his first OHL season with the Rangers. The Atlanta Thrashers prospect, selected in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, has 17 points in 16 playoff games after posting 83 points in 58 regular season games this season.
