San Antonio's Gee Assigned To Austin Toros

NEW YORK, April 8, 2010 - San Antonio Spurs forward Alonzo Gee was assigned to the Austin Toros, the Spurs NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment is the 39th time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate during the 2009-10 NBA D-League season and the first for Gee in his career.

Gee returns to the Toros having appeared in 36 games for the team this season before earning a GATORADE Call-Up to San Antonio on March 29. While with the Toros, Gee averaged 21.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 38.2 minutes, recording four double-doubles. He scored a season-high 34 points in a 127-94 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Jan. 6 in Austin.

Gee, who has yet to see action for San Antonio this season, played in 11 games for the Washington Wizards following a GATORADE Call-Up from Austin on March 7. In those games, Gee averaged 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 16.5 minutes. On March 26, Gee earned his first NBA start, scoring a career-high 19 points in a 107-96 loss at Charlotte.

A four-year contributor at Alabama, Gee averaged 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 128 career NCAA games en route to being named an All-SEC selection in both his junior and senior seasons. He finished his collegiate career 11th in school history in scoring (1,630 points) and 18th in rebounds (730). He became only the 11th player in Crimson Tide history to score at least 1,500 points and 700 rebounds.
