Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Los Angeles Angels' outfielder Reggie Willits is scheduled to join the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and be in the starting lineup on Thursday night, for what the LA Times is reporting as a five-game stretch.
After straining a hamstring during the final week of Spring Training, Willits landed on the Disabled List this past weekend.
Willits would join Scott Kazmir as the second scheduled Angels' player to rehab at the Epicenter this week. Kazmir is scheduled to start Friday's match-up, after being placed on the disabled list, also with a strained hamstring.
In 2004, Willits appeared in 135 games as a Quake. The switch-hitting outfielder batted .285 with five homers, 52 RBIs and 44 stolen bases. Willits debuted with the Angels two years later, appearing in 28 games for the Halos in 2006.
Thursday night's Season Opener is a Buffalo Wild Wings Thirsty Thursday, with everyone also enjoying Post-Game Fireworks. For just $2 each, fans can enjoy 16 oz domestic beers and 20 oz sodas, all thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings and X103.9.
Friday will also be a big night at The Epicenter and plenty of great seats are available. In addition to Kazmir scheduled to take the hill for the Quakes, everyone in attendance will receive a FREE Allstar KIA 2010 Quakes Magnet Schedule, thanks to Allstar Kia and AM 1510 The SPA. Game time is 7:05pm, as the Quakes host the Inland Empire 66ers.
Tickets are available for all Quakes regular season games by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at The Epicenter, for the most affordable family entertainment in the Inland Empire. Thanks and Go Quakes!
