MARION, Ill. - Division I college baseball will return to Rent One Park again this season with the third annual Interstate Baseball Classic between Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. This year's game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the Rent One Park box office on the day of the game only. All tickets are $3 with general admission seating on the lower level. Concessions and the McDonald's Fun Zone will be open.

"Rent One Park in Marion is a tremendous place to continue the Southern Illinois University-University of Illinois series," said SIU Director of Athletics Mario Moccia. "Not only is it the premier baseball facility in all of Southern Illinois, the location makes it easy for all fans to attend and enjoy a great evening of baseball. In addition, the fact that Itch Jones was the head coach at both institutions makes the match up all the more intriguing."

SIU Head Coach Dan Callahan is looking forward to coaching at the Southern Illinois Miners home park once again.

"We appreciate our friends at Rent One Park in working with us and getting the opportunity to play at such a beautiful ballpark," Callahan said. "As much as we love Abe Martin Field, we love to come out to Rent One Park and play at a facility as nice as this."

The teams have split the first two matchups with SIU taking a 9-6 win last season and the Illini winning the Inaugural Interstate Baseball Classic, 5-2, in 2008. Current Miners catcher Mark Kelly started and drove in a run for the Salukis in last year's game.

"We enjoy hosting both schools and their fans every year," Miners General Manager Tim Arseneau said. "This has become a great annual tradition."
