
WHL Hockey Live On SHAW: Sunday, March 14 - Red Deer Rebels at Calgary Hitmen

Calgary, AB - Michael Stone and the Calgary Hitmen (51-17-1-2) host Landon Ferraro and the Red Deer Rebels (39-27-0-5) for a Central Division match-up on the final day of Western Hockey League regular-season action on Sunday.
Sunday's contest between the Hitmen and Rebels can be seen LIVE throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct Channel 299 (2:00pm MST).
The Hitmen have already locked up first place in the Central Division, Eastern Conference and overall WHL standings, and will face either Moose Jaw or Swift Current in the first round of the playoffs. Calgary has won three straight Central Division and Eastern Conference titles, and two straight Scotty Munro trophies as the WHL's best regular-season team.
The Rebels are coming off Friday's 4-2 loss to the Kootenay Ice, locking them into sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Rebels will face the Saskatoon Blades in the first round of the playoffs. Ferraro (16g-30a) ranks fourth on the Rebels in scoring with 46 points.
It's the sixth meeting of the season between the Rebels and Hitmen. The Hitmen are 4-0-0-1 versus Red Deer this season.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Jared Cowen and the Spokane Chiefs (44-22-3-2) host Shane Harper and the Everett Silvertips (46-20-3-2) for a critical U.S. Division match-up.
The Chiefs edged the Tri-City Americans 5-4 in Kennewick, WA, on Saturday night, but have already locked themselves into fourth place in the Western Conference to set up a first-round playoff match-up versus Portland. The Chiefs are 21-13-1-0 at home this season.
The Silvertips blanked the Chilliwack Bruins on Saturday night for their second win in as many nights, and now sit tied on points with Tri-Cities for first place in the U.S. Division and Western Conference. The 'Tips need a point from Sunday's game in Spokane to capture the division and conference crowns.
In Kent, WA, Prab Rai and the Seattle Thunderbirds (18-41-7-5) host Craig Cunningham and the Vancouver Giants (41-25-2-3).
The Thunderbirds dropped a 3-1 decision to the visiting Portland Winterhawks on Saturday for their third loss in a row. Rai (40g-28a) leads the Thunderbirds with 68 points this season.
The Giants edged the visiting Kamloops Blazers 6-5 in a shootout on Saturday night for their second win in their last three games. The Giants will meet the Blazers in the first round of the playoffs.
In Moose Jaw, SK, Jason Bast and the Moose Jaw Warriors (33-27-5-6) host Justin Dowling and the Swift Current Broncos (36-30-1-4) for the back half of a home-and-home series between the teams.
The Broncos edged the visiting Warriors 4-3 in a shootout in Swift Current on Saturday night, moving the teams into a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Broncos are 14-16-1-4 on the road this season.
The Warriors dropped their third straight decision with Saturday's loss in Swift Current. The Warriors are 22-7-3-3 on home ice this season.
The winner of Sunday's game will face Brandon in the first round of the playoffs. The loser will meet the Calgary Hitmen in the opening round.
