INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Goals from Tyler Biggs (Cincinnati, Ohio) and J.T. Miller (East Palestine, Ohio) were not enough as the U.S. National Under-17 Team dropped a 6-2 decision to the Indiana Ice here today at Conseco Fieldhouse.

After neither team scored in the opening period, the two squads combined for five goals in the second stanza. Indiana took a 1-0 lead just 32 seconds into the middle frame when Max Cook's bad-angle shot caught a deflection and trickled past netminder John Gibson (Pittsburgh, Pa.). Jacob Fallon doubled the advantage for Indiana when he wristed the puck under Gibson's right arm for a power-play goal at 5:50. Team USA cut its deficit in half while shorthanded when Tyler Biggs (Cincinnati, Ohio) broke down the right wing and ripped a wrist shot inside the right post at 8:49. Just 43 seconds later, Indiana made it 3-1 when Anthony Bitetto's center-point slap shot found the top-right corner of the net for a power-play goal. Team USA closed the gap once again when J.T. Miller (East Palestine, Ohio) slammed home a rebound off of a Reid Boucher (Grand Ledge, Mich.) shot with 2:13 remaining in the period.

Kevin Goumas made it 4-2 just nine seconds into an Indiana power play when his wrist shot from the top of the right faceoff circle sailed over Gibson's glove at 6:04 of the final frame. Cook added to Indiana's lead when he slipped the puck past Gibson from the middle slot with 4:38 to go in the game. Just 59 seconds later, Blake Coleman scored to make it 6-2.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team returns to action Sunday when it meets the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube at 3:05 p.m. EST.
