WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee Wild swept a 3-game series from the Kenai River Brown Bears with a 4-3 overtime victory Saturday night at the Town Toyota Center. It was Wenatchee's sixth win in a row and its ninth win in 10 games against Kenai River this season.

After a scoreless first frame, the Brown Bears took their first lead of the series on Brad Duwe's power play goal 4:40 into the second period. The Wild tied the contest three minutes later when Shawn Pauly (Bellingham, Wash.) scored on a rebound off of Kyle Brodie's (Northglenn, Col.) shot from above the near circle. Christian Hilbrich (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) also assisted.

Kenai River reclaimed the lead with 8:41 remaining before the second intermission when Duwe scored on a one-timer while his team was on a 5-on-3 power play. Jeff Jubinville (Edmonton, AB) tied the game again for the Wild with less than two minutes remaining in the second period when he cashed in on a juicy rebound off of a shot by Chris Rumble (Chesapeake, Va.) from the blue line.

Wenatchee claimed its first lead of the game 3:48 into the third period when Armand Deswardt (Dallas, Texas) sniped a wrister from the top of the far faceoff circle that found the top right corner of the Kenai River net. The goal, which Rumble picked up his second assist of the game on, extended Deswardt's points streak to four games. Kenai River refused to go away and sent the game to overtime on Josh Royston's power play goal 7:15 into the third period.

The game went to a shootout after a scoreless overtime session. Jubinville, the Wild's first shooter, put his team up when he backhanded the puck between goaltender Mike Martin's left skate and the near post. Derek Bayagich, Kenai River's fifth shooter, forced yet another tie on a backhander of his own, but Dajon Mingo (Canton, Mich.) clinched the win for the Wild on a 5-hole shot.

Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, Minn.) stopped 16 of Kenai River's 19 shots. All three of the goals he allowed came with his team shorthanded. Martin turned aside 35 of Wenatchee's 38 shots and did not allow the Wild to score a power play goal on five opportunities.

The Wild will wrap up its home portion of the 2009-10 regular season schedule with a 2-game series against the Wichita Falls Wildcats next Saturday and Sunday (March 6-7). Saturday's game faces off at 7:05 p.m. while Sunday's game begins at 5:05 p.m.
