2010 Force Offensive Preview

February 25, 2010 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
Greenville Force News Release

The Greenville FORCE continues to sign players as they head toward final try-outs for their second indoor football season on Saturday February 27th. The try-out will be by invitation only as the FORCE prepares to cut the squad down for opening day on March 21st at the Bi-Lo Center against the Lafayette Wildcatters. The FORCE presently have 20 players signed to the offensive side of the ball.

The most exciting position surely will be at QB. Andrew Webb, Presbyterian, led the FORCE to a 7-4 record while under center last year. The offense finished in fourth place in passing offense last year in the AIFA with 216.1 yards per game. The FORCE finished just 17 yards out of first place in the league in their first year at indoor football.

To add to the excitement at the QB position the FORCE have just signed former Clemson standout Woody Dantzler. He holds over 50 Clemson records at the position. He has had multiple stops since leaving the Tigers with a stop in Chicago where the Rush won the Arena League Title. He spent last year with the Harrisburg Stampede in the AIFA but was unable to play because of injury.

Former Georgia Tech QB and WR Mark Logan has also been signed to add competition to see who will be this years signal caller, along with Marcus Littlejohn. It should make for an explosive second season for the FORCE offense.

The Fullback position was held down by Kelvin Sessons Jr. out of Winston Salem State last year. He averaged 2.4 yards per carry for the FORCE while primarily being used as a blocker. He will be joined in the race as the primary ball carrier by Tim Brown of North Greenville and Natron Scott of USC.

The WR position will be focused on Issac West, Furman, who lead the FORCE with 918 receiving yards and 17 TD's. Marcus Daniels, Rutgers, and Chris Jackson, Charleston Southern, are also back from last years receiving corps. They will be joined by Octavius Love of Tusculum, Preston Burton from NCA&T, Windfield Jenkins of Johnson &Wales, and Travis Cook from Laurens High.

The FORCE have just signed wide receiver Freddie Brown, University of South Carolina as their newest addition on the offensive side of the ball. He was rated the 49th best wide receiver in the country coming out of Byrnes High School in Duncan.

We will follow up with the defensive backs and linebackers in a separate review. The offensive and defensive lineman will anchor their own article. Then we will finish with the kickers as we focus on next Saturday's Greenville FORCE invitation only try-outs.
