Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

Edinburg, Texas--- The Edinburg Roadrunners of United League Baseball (ULB) are proud to announce today that Vince Moore will be returning for a fifth year as the Field Manager for the 2010 season.

Moore started his managerial career with the Roadrunner in 2005, where he was a co-recipient of the Manager of the Year Award as he guided the team to a 57-33 regular season record in which they were crowned the regular season champs.

Roadrunners General Manager Doug Leary was pleased with the signing. "The return of Moore is great for the franchise. His return gives us continuity and professional leadership in the dugout."

Despite the fact that last year the Roadrunners started slowly the team's turnaround was highlighted by a 12-game winning streak in August that lifted the team into a second place finish during the regular season. "We started the season late, we were short players and other leagues had started before us leading to a rocky beginning but were able to get our momentum back by mid-season and our progress was evident at the end of the campaign," said Moore.

In the off-season Moore keeps himself busy working at hitting clinics in Houston, Corpus Chrisiti and here in Edinburg.

The Edinburg Roadrunners Baseball Club is a charter member of the United League Baseball, a Professional Independent League, with six teams playing in Texas. ULB teams are located in Edinburg, Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Harlingen, Laredo, and San Angelo.
