Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Reading, PA - Earlier today the Reading Phillies announced plans for the 2010 season with families as the focus. The R-Phils official slogan for 2010 will be "Bring the Fam, to America's Classic Ballpark". After last week's first look at plans for the 2010 Opening Weekend festivities at FirstEnergy Stadium, the R-Phils are pleased to announce their plans for what will once again be a great place for families, with two great offers to accommodate them this season.
"Families have always been our main focus here in Baseballtown, and nothing is more important to us than providing affordable entertainment to FAMILIES," said R-Phils GM Scott Hunsicker. "This year we have once again expanded upon our family packages which we expect will help to bring more families out to the ballpark, and also provide an opportunity for families to attend games in special areas such as the Pool Picnic Area."
This season, America's Classic Ballpark will again feature the very popular $16 Family Night at the pool. New for 2010, ten games have been designated as $16 Family Nights at the pool - one of the most unique baseball destinations around. Each $16 Family Night at the pool features a two and a half hour buffet at a poolside picnic table. Fans will be able to chow down on hamburgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, potato salad, chips, pretzels, cookies and beverages. In addition, families in the Reading Eagle Pool Picnic Area will get a visit from a Reading Phillies player during the pre-game at each of the $16 Family Nights. There is no minimum number of tickets required. $16 Family Nights at the pool are an outstanding opportunity for families to experience the area at a significant discount. The first of ten $16 Family Nights at the pool is Opening Night April 8th. The complete list of $16 Family Night games can be found below.
Back on the calendar for 2010 is one of the most popular attractions from the 2009 Season - 4-for-$48 Family Nights featuring a pre-game catch on the field. Every Friday game this season, in addition to all Monday and Wednesday night games starting in June, will feature Capital BlueCross 4-for-$48 Family Nights. Each Family Night package includes four yellow box seats, four hot dogs, and four sodas for only $48.
In addition, Capital BlueCross 4-for-$48 Family Nights also include tremendous added value experiences for families. At each Family Night game, all fans are encouraged to participate in a pre-game play catch on the field with a free baseball for the first 100 kids who participate, thanks to Bellco Federal Credit Union. Free on field pre-game activities also include family photos with an R-Phils player, thanks to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. Also, as part of the fun, R-Phils players will sign free autographs during the pre-game thanks to Redner's Warehouse Markets. Once the game begins, kids will be provided with free balloon art. The first of 18 Capital BlueCross 4-for-$48 Family Nights will be Friday, April 9th. The complete list of 4-for-$48 Family Night games can be found below.
