The Salvation Army of Jackson is gearing up for its 2010 SOUPer Bowl XIII. This is the 13th year of the event that raises funds for the many community feeding programs The Salvation Army provides to assist the homeless and needy families. "We are so delighted that Gail has decided to premiere her new line of pottery with a special bowl designed exclusively for The Salvation Army." stated A/Captain Ken Chapman, Area Coordinator for The Salvation Army Metro Jackson Command. "In this current cold weather snap coupled with the state of the economy, our feeding programs are in demand now more than ever."

SOUPer Bowl XIII is taking another first this year as the event will be moved to the MS Braves stadium at Trustmark Park. As in years past, the event will take place on Superbowl Sunday, February 7th, from 11AM-2PM. Last year, Gail produced her final signature bowl for SOUPer Bowl XII, this year; Gail Pittman has embarked on a "re-invention" of her line of pottery and wanted to showcase her first piece, the "Forever Hope", for The Salvation Army. "The Salvation Army has done so much for both my family and so many other Mississippians," Gail Pittman says, "as I have re-invented my work, The Salvation Army helps to re-invent lives."

Tickets for SOUPer Bowl XIII are available in advance for both the new bowl with unlimited soup priced at $30 and soup only tickets are available for $15. Tickets can be purchased in advance from www.buyfromachristian.com or The Salvation Army at 601-982-4881. As in years past, collectors of Pittman's pottery can search through patterns of her bowls for sale at the event.
