Calgary Stampeders News Release
Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import running back Joffrey Reynolds has signed a contract extension with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Reynolds will be available to the media today at 2 p.m. in the new Coaches' Building at McMahon Stadium. Please park in the south parking lot and enter through the lower (north-facing) level.
"Joffrey is a key part of our team and we're delighted to have him back," said Hufnagel. "He is one of the premier backs in the Canadian Football League and his production speaks for itself. He is the model of consistency and professionalism."
Reynolds was named the 2009 West Division Most Outstanding Player after leading all CFL rushers with 1,504 yards as he won his second consecutive rushing title. He also led the league with 1,935 yards from scrimmage and nine 100-yard games. He scored 11 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns for a total of 13 majors, which ranked him second in the league.
The 30-year-old, Tyler, Tex., product enters his seventh season with the Stamps as the franchise's second-leading all-time rusher with 7,536 yards. He trails only Kelvin Anderson (8,292).
