
Witt, 3 Stampede Affiliate Players Listed On NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings

Sioux Falls, SD-NHL Central Scouting has released its mid-term rankings of draft-eligible players in advance of the 2010 NHL Draft. The list includes one current Stampede player and three players on the Stampede's affiliate roster which is compiled of players selected during the USHL "Futures Draft." The affiliate list is a roster of 12 players that a team is allowed to protect in addition to their 23-man roster.
Clay Witt ranks 19th overall amongst North American goaltenders while affiliate netminder Jacob Meyers ranks 31st overall. Forward Jason Clark is listed at 73rd overall while forward Christian Isackson is ranked 112th overall amongst North American skaters.
NHL Central Scouting complies separate rankings for draft-eligible North American skaters and goaltenders and European skaters and goaltenders. The North American list ranks 210 skaters and 32 goaltenders.
Witt, a 2010 USHL All-Star, is 11-4-3 on the season and ranks fifth amongst USHL goaltenders with a 2.64 GAA and a.901 save percentage. He is tied for the league lead with three shutouts. The Tampa, FL native is 4-2-1 with a 2.96 GAA and a.894 save percentage in his last eight appearances. He has already committed to Northeastern University for the fall of 2010.
Meyers is the brother of former Stampede forward Chris Meyers who was a member of the Stampede's Anderson Cup championship team in 2006. Meyers is currently a senior captain at Benilde-St. Margaret's (MN) where he is 8-2-1 with a 2.76 GAA and a.903 save percentage. Benilde-St. Margaret's is 9-2-1 overall and in first place in the North Suburban Conference with a 4-0-0 record.
Clark is a senior at Shattuck St. Mary's Preparatory School in Minnesota where he has tallied 33 points (14g, 19a) in 34 games. Shattuck is 27-7-4 on the season and plays an independent schedule against Midget AAA teams, Junior A teams, high school teams as well as some college teams. Clark posted 16 points (8g, 8a) in 15 games while playing in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League earlier in the year.
Isackson is a senior at St. Thomas Academy (MN) where he ranks second on the team in scoring with 18 points (9g, 9a) in just nine games. He leads the team with three powerplay goals. St. Thomas is 7-4-0 overall and in second place in the Classic Suburban Conference with a 4-1-0 record. Isackson recorded 22 points (11g, 11a) in 24 games in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League. He has already committed to the University of Minnesota for the 2011-12 season.
The 2010 NHL Draft will take place June 25-26 in Los Angeles, CA. The USHL has a total of 31 current skaters and four goaltenders listed.
