Boston's Hudson Re-Assigned To D-League Affiliate Maine Red Claws

NEW YORK, Dec. 26, 2009 - Boston Celtics rookie guard Lester Hudson was re-assigned to the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics' NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. Hudson's re-assignment is the ninth time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate this season.

Hudson was originally assigned to the Red Claws on Dec. 15 before being recalled to the Celtics on Dec. 20. During that assignment Hudson appeared in three games for Maine, averaging 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He scored a career-high 25 points on Dec. 16 in a road win over the Erie BayHawks.

Selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Celtics in the 2009 NBA Draft, Hudson has appeared in 13 regular season games for Boston this year. In the 2009 NBA preseason, Hudson played in eight games, averaging 5.1 points in 13.0 minutes. He scored 12 points in a preseason win over the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 14.

A product of Tennessee-Martin, Hudson appeared in 65 games, 64 as a starter, and averaged 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists. During his junior and senior seasons, Hudson was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, while earning First Team All-Conference honors for those two seasons. Prior to matriculating at Tennesse-Martin, Hudson played his freshman and sophomore seasons at West Central Tennessee Community College.
